Burlöv Municipality is perfectly located – you can cycle to three different universities: in Alnarp, Lund and Malmö. On the other side of the Bridge, over the Öresund strait, you find Copenhagen and Kastrup International Airport. Together with the domestic airport Sturup/Malmö and harbors in Malmö and Trelleborg, there are excellent travel communications to anywhere in the world.
However it is the people, businesses, meeting places and cultural activities that bring life to our municipality, not the location or the great communications. Culture is essential for a small municipality such as ours. In order to create our own identity, we have invested and built a new library and surrounding park.
Cultural activities, such as concerts and other events, create a sense of community in our municipality. We have recently celebrated the 100-year anniversary of Lars Erik Larsson, one of Sweden´s greatest composers, born and raised in Åkarp. We believe that we can achieve much through simple means. The catch words we use are Involvement, Closeness and Variety.
